THE POETRY KIT AWARDS 2006

 

2005 saw the introduction of the annual POETRY KIT AWARDS. This is the second year of the awards and a large number of our Newsletter readers voted for those on the nominated short list.

 

I am pleased to announce the winner in each category is as follows.

 

A short list of the nominations were then circulated to all our mailing lists and over 5 thousand people had the opportunity to vote for their favourites in each section. In the event over 1100 votes were counted and the results are as follows.  In some categaries the votes were very close so we have awarded a "highly commended" rating.

Finally. An award which is awarded by the editorial staff of Poetry Kit. This award will be given for services to Poetry and we hope will in time come to be seen as an accolade awarded to those who, like Ted Slade, dedicated a good part of their time and energy to the promotion of poetry of all kinds with little or no reward for themselves.
