Jim Bennett - Liverpool, U.K.

A poet who was born and lives in Liverpool, UK. Has had over forty books published some for children, many technical and six collections of his poetry. In addition there are tapes and CD's of Jim reading his own poems and singing his songs. Jim regularly tours in the UK and America and teaches Creative Arts at the University of Liverpool. William Fox - Melbourne, Australia,

From Melbourne, Australia William is currently studying Arts at Melbourne University. He won the Original English Verse prize at his high school, and his work has been published in the online journal Thylazine, and is forthcoming in Sidewalk, Paper Tiger, and Centoria.

"Why I write".

I write to silence the tears and share the laughter of my soul. I must write. I must communicate, one way or another, or else the power would overwhelm me, and I would cease to be. My poem "Words" describes this writer's connection with words.

Maryann recently completed her first hard copy collection of poetry entitled Under The Limbo Stick, courtesy of Straw House Press, with a second collection underway. She also has five self-published chapbooks. She is currently Poetry Editor of the award winning internet magazine, The Writer's Hood. She is widly published and won a number of prestigeous awards including
Silver Rose Award for Poetic Achievement.

Sam Vaknin

Sam Vaknin has a combined doctorate in Physics and Philosophy. He is an economic and political columnist in many periodicals in a few countries and a published and awarded author of short fiction and reference books in Hebrew, English and Macedonian in Israel, Macedonia and the Czech Republic.

He is the editor of the Mental Health Disorders category in the Open Directory Project and the editor of the Narcissistic Personality Disorder topic in Suite101 and Go.com. He is serving currently as the Economic Advisor to the Government of Macedonia.

His new book "After the Rain - How the West Lost the East" is available from Barnes and Noble and, as an e-book, from Booklocker, eBooksonthe.net, MightyWords, SoftLock and from CyberRead.

Bill Melrose, Liverpool, U.K.

Bill is a contributer to Merseyside Arts Monthly and Transparent Words he also contributes regularly to regional newspapers. He retired from general practice as a doctor and has attended courses at the University of Liverpool to pursue his interest in writing. Mainly known for short witty hunourous articles he has produced a number of interesting reviews including A Night in Liverpool which an appears in this edition.

John Carley - Lancashire UK

Raised on Airfix kits and rag-and-bone men, John comes late to poetry via commercial lyric and copy writing. Though longer pieces often explore refrain patterns his work is strongly influenced by the Japanese classical period, being always written from direct observation and drawing heavily on the natural world.

John lives in the old semi-industrial heartland of the Lancashire Pennines where he works as a creative writing tutor and literary development officer.

Carol Sircoulomb - USA

Carol lives in Wichita Kansas and work as a full time photgrapher. She says that pottery,  sculpture, gardening and poetry are her passions.  "Poetry is the only thing that is not dirty.....and that is questionable" . She has been married for 27 years and has 3 children and a new grand daughter, 4 cats 3 dogs 1 bird 1 rat 4 guneepigs and a frog.

Carol recently won the Charnwood Arts short poetry competion and has been published in The Art Haiku 2000. Prairie Poetry E zinee http://www.prairiepoetry.org/ has published several of her poems .

James Bell - U.K.

James Bell: was born in Scotland. He took a degree in English at Stirling University as a mature student where Norman MacCaig, then Reader In Poetry, was one of his tutors. He has played many roles in life and include time as an actor and mime artist, a salesman and for many years has lived and worked in Devon, England as a Careers Adviser. He returned to writing poetry four years ago after a twenty year sabbatical and has been published in journals in the UK, Australia and is about to make a debute in the USA. He regularly reads his work publically and has had some success at winning prizes for poetry - a new experience.
