Transparent Words - Poetry
by Carol Sircoulomb
I have always hated science fiction makes me want to barf green slime on the television my husband never misses star trek at 9:30 PM even if I had a 20 year old body dancing in the nude would he look up at me so I have resigned myself to his love of science fiction he does not rag on my love of art abstraction or poetry so with no choices left but to work on the computer with my back turned to the hideous fake looking creatures ugly warty star travelers I clone tap dancers on my computer screen I notice my husband dancing with the others on my screen he appears so happy in his polyester star trek uniform and fat belly throwing me kisses and waving good bye I hit pause but poof he is gone I try to bring him back with the clone tool to no avail I presume he has left me to join his friends on the enterprise every night I turn the television at 9:30 PM hoping to see my beloved husband while eating antacids trying not to barf green slime
