David W. Rushing - USA

Strangers In The Night

The painfully sensitive
and
frighteningly aware

wrap themselves in blankets
of
damp mist and heavy fog

while walking soggy
streets
in broken cities.

They cross each other's path
and
exchange a hidden glance

but silently
pass
one another by

forever remaining
strangers
in the night.
