My Last Thought
by Victoria Clark
- If you would die tomorrow,
- What would you remember.
- The bright sunshine of August.
- Or the rain clouds of December.
- Family around the Christmas tree,
- All eating warm mince pies.
- The crunching of autumns fallen leaves,
- The Red glow of October skies.
- The pier head in the morning,
- Watching dolphins out at sea.
- The silence in the hilltops,
- That belonged to you and me.
- For me it would be none of these,
- I stand up and take my cue.
- As I tell the world and God above,
- My last thought would be you.
