Transparent Words - Poetry

Penelope
by Lawrence Upton

Penelope recounting traditions,
unable to account for them,
unwilling to forget;
under gallows,
laughter

Penelope stuck in a passage middle
muddled in time alone, distressed
abusing imperatives
just forgotten
happy!
