I sat with the gods today
in Vondelpark Jupiter's sons totally absorbed with games that chariots play Aphrodite's grand daughters sail past blonde flowing mane upright haughty frame returning to Utopia
I from another dimension
totally ignored a small boy smitten by their perfection till that night like dreams of the dead larger than life Teutonic marble surrounds me with unblinking statue stare Michelangelo giants lacklustre eyes perfect blue with pouting lips long long backs on slim slim hips pedalling an Escher treadmill flat footed an exquisite lumbering classical beauty What will become of Zeus's children when the smaller races take their land and call it Lilliput will they then be bound and set back upon their pedestals staring in outsize grace into outsize space locked in their own dimension. with flowing hair and blue blue eyes long long backs on slim slim thighs I sat with the gods today. I from another dimension totally ignored by the games that chariots play |
