The Meaning of a Drop

the word drop takes on new meaning, a drop

of water on a thirsty day, a day of reckoning

in a tragic play, a play on words is a drop

the drop refers to cases slowing, dropping on

a chart, charting a course through hazardous

seas, seizing the day wearing protective gear

the gear on the wheel is spinning in time and

spacing itself on a crowded field or a public

place, a place in the collective bleeding heart

the heart is a starving hunter, a hunt for safety

on a dangerous course, of course there's a chance

of a cure if we manage just a drop of hope
