Maureen Weldon

Maureen Weldon has published five pamphlets, her latest “Midnight Robin” (Poetry Space). 2014 she represented Wales at Ukraine’s Terra Poetica, receiving an Award. 2013 featured by “Caught In The Net” The Poetry Kit. 2017 she won Poet of The Month, Second Light Live. Her poems have appeared in numerous magazines, journals, anthologies including Crannóg Spring 2020 issue 52. A member of The British Haiku Society where her work is frequently published. She is looking forward to her forthcoming pamphlet to be published by Red Squirrel Press.

AFTER HOURS

And I sizzling.
That was a long time ago
living on a tall hill.

The lad came... went.

My father ready to kill him
but swallowed his anger
and away for a pint of Guinness.
