This too shall pass

It spreads like wildfire refusing containment
roving round cities, countries and continents
the globe is on lockdown and recession is imminent
many have lost lives
many eyes have cried
and fear cripples like gyve
what a time to be alive

this virus threatens to utterly consume
all on pause unbeknownst when we shall resume
to normalcy
but knowing how seasons come and go
how feelings form and flow
this too shall pass

Hope is all I’ve got to hold on to
soothing words are all we’ve got to see us through
hope will not fail
and this too shall pass
