YOU & I

My mind a dark cloud feels
like walking in the gloom
alone on a frozen winter
night
rain misting my face
stinging with each gust of wind.

Friday night all alone
cooking on an old broken stove
tofu and rice, the fabric of
my sweater not enough
to warm a lonely heart
like mine.

I crave you and me in a
different city
with gloved hands holding each other
walking with no direction.
Cafes in quiet streets with coloured
neon signs,
tea for me
coffee for you.

In my dreams I have it all
and life follows a less
linear fashion as dreams do.
Wintery afternoons,
the sun streaming onto the carpet.
Me and you lying on the
floor, kissing.

I never stop writing about you
and I.
