Julia Camden
Redhill, UK

Julia is a visual artist inspired to write poetry for the first time in the era of Covid. She was moved by the profound experience of redeploying from her library job to train as a Registrar creating death registrations.

Completed 6th June 2020

A Death Registrar in the time of Covid

A shape, a shadow
The first and last
The birth and now the end
One pale blue page
One lived life lost
Four corners with no depth
The number of days
An empty place
Fleeting life in permanent ink
Who they were
What they did
No longer there but forever here
